Education and Training
Growing complexity of food production in the face of the factors such as demands for sustainability, the impact of climate change, ‘local-for-Local’ issues and the global spread of serious crop pests and diseases, means that skilled university graduates are needed. Food Hub Projects serve as monitored and advised agricultural universities, universities for applied sciences and institutions for agricultural training.
A section of the project can be reserved for research and training programs. By collaborating with local universities in this project, students can be introduced to state-of-the-art technics and increase their market value.
As most of the training program is done directly on the job, learned skills can be applied directly and working life can be combined with training.
In the Netherlands, there is a long-term tradition of agricultural education to foreigners at all levels. The Food Hub Project cooperates with four of the most acclaimed institutes on agricultural education that are specialized in education on all levels of agriculture, from production to processing.
