The best foundation of a profitable greenhouse project is based on facts
Assembling a plot assessment is necessary in order to achieve a responsible approach of a project. Therefor the procedures to start a project are always preceded by a plot assessment and a pre-feasibility study.
The plot assessment and the pre-feasibility research covers the following topics:
- (Optional) Consumer research (product selection , quality , etc.)
- Establishing a business plan including investment/operating budgets
- Preliminary design of greenhouse and/or open fields including infrastructure
- Final design and specifications
- Tendering procedures of the project
- Management training
- Construction supervision and EPC
- Delivery
- Monitoring of the process and operations (see attachment)
The plot assessment including business plan will be presented separately at a cost of €45.000, – ex travel and accommodation expenses .
Consumer research can be important when a retailer is available that wants to buy the produce in advance at a fixed price. A market/consumer study can provide clarity on the product selection and the quantitative and/or qualitative expectations of the market . When export is an option, the sales and logistics had to be arranged before building. We consider this option it at least as complementary , but not entirely insignificant option.
After the plot assessment, an agreement must be drawn up for the construction of the entire project including monitoring . There will be two decisive moments, the first after the preliminary design, wherein on the basis of technical details, related to the location insurmountable ( economic ) bumps will appear , and secondly when no tender can be made according to budget .
These disintegrating factors must be taken into account that change in circumstances, which creates more relevance in the project, the contract will be continued. yet The cost of this will depend on the energy that we use . A combination with Geothermal Energy means more engineering hours . For the procurement , construction management and delivery I reckon in the Netherlands 10 % of the tender amount , which noted that this amounts tender part is payback , while the knowledge and experience of the 10 % already amply reimbursed.
